Vaults Rehab
QuakeWrap, Inc. has provided inspection services and structural engineering services for
(1) a 12.47kV Switchgear Vault,
(2) a 69/12.47kV Transformer #1 Foundation,
and (3) a 2.47kV Bypass Vault.
Finite element analysis using the software RISA 3D has been performed on the Getaway vault for the three proposed options. This analysis also accounts for openings present in the vault top slabs. The goal of the analysis is to evaluate the capacity of the existing structure to support the new equipment loads. The vault was modeled as plates (horizontal) and walls (vertical) using quadrilateral elements that measure six (6) inches on each side. This size of mesh provides sufficiently accurate data for this level of analysis.
